Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about caring for and cooking with Lodge Cast Iron.
How do I clean my seasoned cast iron cookware?
Wash your cast iron by hand with warm water and a small amount of mild soap if needed. Dry immediately and thoroughly with a lint-free cloth or paper towel, then rub with a very light layer of cooking oil while the cookware is still warm.
What does it mean that my cookware is 'pre-seasoned'?
All Lodge cast iron cookware comes pre-seasoned with 100% natural vegetable oil. This means it is ready to use right out of the box, though the non-stick properties will continue to improve with every use.
Can I use Lodge cast iron on a glass top stove?
Yes, Lodge cast iron is compatible with glass top stoves. We recommend lifting the cookware rather than sliding it across the surface to prevent scratching, and ensuring the bottom of the pan is clean and smooth.
What is your return policy?
We offer a 30-day return window for products purchased directly from our site. Items must be in their original, unused condition and packaging. Please note that shipping fees are non-refundable.
Does Lodge offer international shipping?
Currently, we ship directly to addresses within the United States. For international customers, we recommend checking our authorized global retail partners to find Lodge products in your region.
Why is there a small mark or 'chip' on the rim of my new pan?
This is a common result of our seasoning process where the cookware is hung on a conveyor. If the oil pools slightly at the contact point, it may flake off. This is not a defect and will disappear as you continue to cook and season your pan.
